On September 15, the 5th BDS Scale Application International Summit officially opened in Zhuzhou, Hunan. With the theme of "BDS for the World — Empowering a Shared Future", this summit innovatively built a "1+10+7+10" event system, covering the opening ceremony & keynote report session, 10 thematic forums, 7 academic exchange activities and 10 local featured events, with a significantly larger scale than the previous edition.

Representatives from 34 countries and regions, 6 international organizations, 18 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, and heads of over 100 leading enterprises in the industry gathered at the scene. The total number of participants and exhibitors reached nearly 7,000, including 170 overseas guests.

The BDS International Exchange and Promotion Center for Scale Application was officially inaugurated and permanently settled in Zhuzhou. Meanwhile, the Research Report on BDS Industry Development (2026) and Top 10 Cases of BDS Scale Application (2026) were released. During the summit, 51 new BDS products, technologies and applications made their global debut, fully demonstrating the in-depth integration and breakthroughs of BDS in emerging tracks including low-altitude economy, intelligent connected vehicles and mass consumption. The BDS Application International Cooperation and Innovation Base was also unveiled, which will develop a number of landmark overseas application demonstration projects and gradually build a cooperation system connecting China's BDS industry with the global market.

As one of the four global satellite navigation systems recognized by the United Nations, BDS-related products have been sold to more than 140 countries and regions, with a market share of 58% in Belt and Road partner countries. Leveraging its own scientific research and industrial advantages, Hunan continues to strengthen the whole BDS industrial chain. In 2025, the revenue of the province's aerospace and BDS industrial chain reached 147.2 billion yuan, with a number of core technologies realizing localized transformation, making Hunan an important cluster of BDS industry in China.（photo by Chen Zhenhai）
